Why do some people deny that God exists?Both materialistic evolutionary theory and theistic (God-controlled) evolutionary theory claim that we are all descendants of fish. Who could believe such a message? Only someone who wants to avoid God.
Given the scientific facts that have been uncovered, a person would have to be willingly ignorant to believe such a thing. They would have to want very badly not to know about God's power and sovereignty, wouldn't they? They would have to just blind their eyes. You and I know that God created us and God knows that we know. There is a lot that you and I know about God just by looking at the creation. The Bible is very clear that God speaks to you through the Bible, and not only through the Bible. In Paul's letter to the Romans, it says that everything that can be known about God, and the Godhead (including Jesus and the Holy Ghost), is known to you and I through the things that He has created. When you look at the creation around you, God speaks to you through your conscience. That's why you know right from wrong. That is why you know that you are helpless to save yourself from your own sin. Though your conscience can lose its sensitivity when you continually ignore it, it is still there, and God speaks to you through it. Only a fool would say in his heart there is no God. God has made Himself very obvious in the things that He has created. And God knows that you know. He knows your thoughts even better than you do. You get confused with rationalized supposition and trying to hide your own sinful nature from others and from yourself. God is never confused. He is not impressed with phony arguments or human logic. It's between you and God, not anything else. You can't fool God. No one can. He knows. Romans 1:20 2 Peter 3 Psalm 94:9,10 You are responsible and God holds you responsible.God knows every thought that you have ever had and everything that you have ever done. God is Love, and the world has rebelled against Love. God is holy and can't even look on that which is not Love, so all of humanity has been separated from God by lack of Love. The lack of love is also known as sin. This sin is simply rebellion against God. It is a desire to NOT commune with God. It is a desire to NOT glorify and respect God and NOT hold Him in holy reverence. It is a desire to add to and take away from God's Word and to follow one's own mind and will, which leads to spiritual death and is the cause of physical misery, sickness, and death.Almost all, or perhaps all, of what is called love or good by those who are in rebellion against God is actually the exact opposite of Love. There is a price to pay for this rebellion both in this age and in the one to come. That's why we see sickness, disease, turmoil, sorrow, and death. That is why there is a hell. God also knows that we all know that there is a hell, and He knows that scoffers are merely trying to make themselves feel less dread. Romans 13:9 Isaiah 5:20 God knows why people reject Him.Those who reject God do so because they don't want the God of Love ruling them. They don't want the power of God's Love being the motivating empowerment in their lives. They want the self-glorification and self-gratification of their own flesh, their human mind, spirit, and emotion, to rule over them and be the power in their life. For this reason they are willing to go through unbelievable mental gymnastics and speak of their loopy logic, calling it "science," which it is not. They seek to denigrate anyone who will not bow down to their false "science." They refuse to see God's active Hand in the lives of men and women. Being unable to deal with the reality of the loving God, they seek to find a naturalistic/materialistic explanation for every miracle of God. They hate God and God knows it. Those who reject God are rejecting Love. They want darkness more than they want Light. No one has ever found an error in Scripture, and those who don't want the Bible to be God's Word do so because they want to follow the leading of their own mind rather than receiving the revelation of God's will in their lives. They want darkness, and they hate the pure love of God. They desire pleasure more than they love God. They want to call good "evil" and they want to call evil "good." They try to rationalize to themselves and to others that God will not see and that God will not judge. God knows that all the arguments come from a rebellious heart and He holds out His hand for any who will turn from their rebellion and who will turn to Him. God is holy and God requires that you are holySelf righteousness doesn't work. No one, by his or her own effort, can achieve the perfection that God needs. There is only one way to attain righteousness, and that is through Jesus Christ, God's unique Son. He came and died for you so that you could become holy before God. All of this was done so that God could bless you and commune with you. God loved you first, then supplied your need. It would be terribly disrespectful to turn Him down on His amazing offer.I John 1:5 Psalm 145:17 Everyone has fallen short.If you break one part of God's law, you are guilty of all of it. And that list is just the beginning. All have fallen short. Just rejecting Jesus is enoughGod provided a way of salvation, and He is looking for those who will accept it. He is looking for those who will not reject Him. Those who reject God's salvation are rejecting a wonderful gift. They are exhibiting the ultimate in rebellion against God. There is no way to sugar-coat this situation. Those who reject Jesus are rejecting God and are condemned already.John 12:48 John 3:18 The wages are real: heaven and hell are realYes. Despite the speculative rationalizations of the Secular Humanist religion, heaven and hell are both realities. Even though Secular Humanism and other denominations of the New Age religion have spent a fortune on trying to make everyone believe that there is no real heaven and there is no real hell, that does not change reality. Bot heaven and hell are real.Romans 6:23 2 Peter 3:9 empirical evidence Revelation 21:4 & 27 God's love is so great that He gave His only unique Son so we would not have to be cut off from Him in hell.God is Love. All who reject God, reject love. Any who does not love does not know God. God gave His unique Son for me and for you, and that way is the one and only way that anyone will be able to approach God. Contrary to what the New Agers in Hollywood, in the universities, in the news media, and in our neighborhoods have been trying to tell us, there are not many ways to God. God loved us so much that He gave us a way, and that is the only way.Romans 3:24 John 3:14-21 God's purpose is to first bring you back into His family.We're talking about God's family. You can't join God's family. You can't buy your way in. You can't work your way in. You must be born into this family. The way is simple. All who will receive Jesus as their savior from sin are born as spiritual babies into the family of God the Father.God's purpose is to have you grow up to maturity.God wanted you to be born into His family so that He could nurture you into full maturity. Maturity will be marked by the right kind of fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, meekness, kindness, faith, and inner strength that comes from God, Spiritual maturity does not consist of learning the doctrine of a denomination, but it consists of dying to self and living to God. It will fully be shown to the world when we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to the measure of the stature of fullness of Christ. Keep on keeping on! There is a cost to receiving Jesus as your SaviorTo be a Christian-in-name only won't cost you anything, but to truly have an experience with the living Savior will cost you. You will be ridiculed. You will be discriminated against. There would be less hypocrisy among Christians if more Christians would get saved.
There would be even less hypocrisy among Christians if saved Christians would reject rationalized and spiritualized suppositions and fabrications.
There would be even less hypocrisy among Christians if saved Christians would keep pressing on toward higher heights and deeper depths in Christ Jesus.
