"If I can tell a story of Evolution from molecules to man and you cannot absolutely prove that my story didn't happen, then my story did happen." "If I can make an assumption or tell a story about a certian item in the Bible that, if my story were true, would make the Bible wrong, in error, or inconsistent, then that proves that the Bible is either wrong, in error, or inconsistent." "If I can misunderstand something about life and my misunderstanding would make God awful, then my misunderstanding proves that God is awful." If people would state their story-based thinking and assumption-based thinking and lie-based thinking and irrational-thought-based thinking as the three examples above are worded, this would make things easy. It's rarely that easy. The stories are intermixed with facts, observations of reality, and real science and logic, so they are difficult to detect. Many people are fooled by such things, and many people fool themselves with this type of thinking. However, you can learn to discern. It is well worth the effort to sign up for CEH and read the articles as they come to you. It is well worth studying the baloney detector. See the baloney detector for more information.
