Tactic of AssociationThe tactic of association occurs when various techniques are used to create a mental association or link between two things that are not otherwise linked. This is usually done to cast either a good light or a bad light on some favored group or ideology. Examples of the Tactic of Association / StereotypingThe liberal news media began using the same word, fundamentalist, to describe Christians who believe the Bible and Muslim terrorists. By using this word across all the liberal news media (virtually all news media that existed) and by using it repeatedly, an artificial association was created between Bible-believing Christians and terrorists when no real association exists. The media repeatedly referring to “evidence for evolution” in contrast to “belief in creation.” The problem is that there is no evidence that molecules-to-man evolution ever happened. Some people believe in molecules-to-man evolution while others believe what God says through the Bible about creation. Scientifically, both sides look at the evidence through different “lenses.” However, by repeating the same association multiple times, the various forms of media are able to create an association in people’s minds that gives them the false impression that there is some scientific evidence that molecules-to-man evolution actually happened. ![]()
