Tactic of Infiltration / Hostile Takeover

The Tactic of Infiltration / Hostile Takeover occurs when an organization is infiltrated or taken over by those opposed to the organization's purpose. Non-Christians have infiltrated the Christian churches and organizations with various motivations.

Examples of the Tactic of Infiltration / Hostile Takeover

At one time, most, if not all, major universities were Christian, but they were subverted from within.

During the Vietnam War, many young people wanted to avoid serving in the military, so they went to seminary even though they were not followers of Jesus Christ. Often, they got post-graduate degrees to extend the process. When they graduated, they had no desire to serve in a local Church, so they went into administration where they found themselves making decisions about doctrinal issues. They also went into teaching in the seminaries. In this way, they subverted the organizations they joined.
