God's purposes, though a mystery to us, will soon be revealed. 1. stealing and violence--God raises up a nation to punish Judah--God can't look at evil--they worship the tools of their trade 2. the proud are not right--the righteous will live by faith--those who getting rich on loans, looting, evil gain, hurting others--they sin against themselves--bloodshed, getting others drunk to expose them--the foolishness of idols 3. prayer for mercy and deliverance--trusting in God's salvation
